March 20th, 2pm, at the Town Hall, our meeting began with Mothers' Union afternoon prayers led by the vicar, Revd Philip Edge. This was followed by a very informative and interesting talk on, "Who was St. Chad", by the Revd Simon Airey. A vote of thanks was given by Mrs Margaret Johnson-Williams and teas were served by Mrs Thelma Ireland and Mrs Heather Wright.
Our annual Mothers' Union Coffee Morning will be on May 6th, 1Oam-12 at the Town Hall, when we will have our "homemade cake stall", plus plants and various other stalls. Please do your very best to come along and bring your friends.
The "Deanery Festival" will be held at Welshampton this year on May 17th, details to follow.
Our Summer Outing will be on Monday, June 19th to Colwall Church. Mary Sumner the founder of the Mothers' Union movement was married at Colwall Church and we will be hearing a talk on her life and enjoy a guided tour of the Church which will be followed by afternoon tea. The cost of the outing including the afternoon tea will be £16.00, the bus will be leaving Ellesmere at 9.30am, for tickets and details please contact Mrs Connie Mason 01948 780309.
Our next meeting, a talk by the Revd John Vernon "Through Holy Week to Easter — the way of the Cross" will be on April 10th, 2pm at the Town Hall
