May was a very busy month for Mothers' Union. On the 6th May we held our Annual Coffee Morning at the Town Hall, with home-made cakes, cards, gifts, plants and raffle. The morning was very enjoyable and we made £400.00 for Mothers' Union Charities. Thank you all for coming and supporting this very worthwhile cause.

May 17th marked the date of our Deanery Festival this year and was held at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Welshampton. The Theme for 2017 was "Faith in Action". One of our new members Barbara O'Donavan was enrolled. Margaret Williams and Heather Wright read the intercessions and Donna Leigh carried the Mothers' Union Banner. The address was given by Katherine May, Action and Outreach Co-ordinator. Lichfield Diocesan Mothers' Union. Delicious refreshments were served by Welshampton Mothers' Union.

At our afternoon meeting on May 15th, prayers were led by the Vicar, Rev'd Philip Edge and I "hopefully", gave an interesting and informative talk "The Last Port of Call", about the history of Ellesmere Cemetery & Cemetery Chapel. Mary Goulbourne gave the vote of thanks and Heather Wright and Joyce Feeney served the refreshments.

Our Summer Outing to Colwall Church, is on June 19th. The bus will leave Cross Street at 9am prompt. I am sure we will have a most enjoyable day out. Any queries phone Mrs Connie Mason 01948 780309.

Yours with love,
