February 19th, our AGM was held 1.45pm at the Town Hall. The annual reports were read out, the Secretary's Report, the Treasurer's Report and the Branch Leader's report.
This was followed by a talk by Gill Leah who spoke about the work of the Worldwide Mothers' Union. Gill was an excellent speaker and made us realise what good work the Mothers' Union does both here and abroad, promoting family life and caring for children and so much more.
Teas and home made cakes were served by Mrs Valerie Thomson and Mrs Judith Wadhams.
Our Wave of Prayer was held on 11th February where we prayed for Ankole — Uganda, Karnataka —India, Abuju, Lagos West Nigeria, Lainys, South Sudan and Lichfield.
Mothering Sunday will be celebrated on March 11th with posies made by Mothers' Union. If you would like to help with small flowers or greenery you are very welcome to come along 10am on Saturday 10th March at Church.
Our next meeting is on Monday 19th March with a talk "The Work of the Blood Bikers", 2pm at the Town Hall.
Sadly one of our loyal members Kay Staddon has died aged 97 years, Kay will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
I would like to thank everyone for all your beautiful cards, good wishes, kindness and caring that I received during my recent illness. Hopefully I am now on the mend.
