Our first meeting of the New Year was held on the 21st January, 2pm at the Town Hall. The Speaker, Mrs Catherine Trimby, gave a very informative talk on "Second Chance". The speaker spoke of her work as a volunteer charity worker, working in prisons with mostly young offenders to keep them from reoffending and out of prison life. Mavis gave a vote of thanks, teas and home made cakes were served by Mrs Heather Wright and Mrs Mary Goulbourne.
"The Wave of Prayer" will be held in S. Johns Room, in one's own home or with friends on Saturday 9th February at 10am.
At our Christingle Service in December approximately £50 was raised and this was sent to The Children's Society.
Our next meeting will be on February 18th at 1.45pm at the Town Hall with a short AGM followed with a talk by our Deanery Leader, Mrs Rosemary Horton "No need for Voice Mail".
If anyone would like to join Mothers' Union just come along to the meeting you will be most welcome .
Yours with love,
