The Harvest Supper will take place on Friday 7th October at the Town Hall at 730pm. In a break with tradition the supper is on the Friday AFTER the Harvest Festival and not the Friday before.
Tickets priced at £10 will be available soon from Ann Harris and it is hoped that as many of you as possible will join us for a full three course supper with starter, roast beef, York¬shire pudding and all the trimmings followed by apple pie and cream and coffee.
Following from his successful zip wire challenge last year, Jeremy Stretton is attempting a bungee jump to raise funds for S. Mary's on Saturday 8th October and hopes to raise at least £500 for Church funds in the process. If you would like to sponsor Jeremy he would be pleased to accept donations and you can also sponsor him online via his Justgiving page.
On Friday 4th November in conjunction with Age UK North Shropshire a 'Shoppers Lunch' will be held in the Town Hall from midday to 2pm. This event ran for many years and raised thousands of pounds for charity, but has not been held for some time. All being well and with your support it is anticipated that together the lunch can be re-introduced as a successful social and fundraising event. Please support this new enterprise by joining us on the day. There will be a number of fundraising stalls, a raffle and of course a magnificent selection of home cooked lunches and desserts. This event will replace the Autumn Fayre which is usually held in October. It is hoped that everyone will lend their support to the Shoppers' lunch so that we can keep up with our fundraising efforts.
