Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Alison and Elis Hughes we held our Parish Lunch this year at Haughton Farm, Caegoody Lane on 21st June. The marquee was ideal for over 80 diners in view of the uncertain weather forecast!
The afternoon was filled with joyous fellowship, friends catching up with each other and sharing plenty of laughter. 85 meals were served which was more than last year's event. Ticket sales made over £1000.00 for much-needed church funds so thanks to everyone who joined us on the day.
A strong vote of thanks was given by Fr Philip to Alison and Elis, Ann Harris for leading ticket sales, Rodney Stokes for again supplying the superb Aberdeen Angus slow-roast beef, various attendees for the fine array of salads and desserts. Thanks were also given to the Fundraising team led by Mark Spurdens along with a team of volunteers who helped with setting-up, serving, washing-up and clearing. Fr Philip noted that this would be his last Parish Lunch adding that our next Fundraising event would be the Harvest Supper on Friday 4th October after his retirement.
We would welcome anyone who would like to become involved with the Fundraising Team, just contact Mark or any member of PCC.
