St Mary's Club Spring/Summer 2019

As part of our busy programme this term, we have been fund raising to buy desks for the Kenya Schools Project. This is a locally run charity in Oswestry who, for donations of £20, have desks made by local craftsmen for the schoolchildren in the area in Kenya where the charity operates.

Parish Lunch

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Alison and Elis Hughes we held our Parish Lunch this year at Haughton Farm, Caegoody Lane on 21st June. The marquee was ideal for over 80 diners in view of the uncertain weather forecast!

Summary of Dementia Friends Presentation to St Mary's PCC

8th January, 2019

Jeremy Stretton, local Dementia Champion with the Alzheimer's Society gave the FCC a 50 minute interactive presentation on dementia awareness. The material is designed by the Alzheimer's Society and aims to help improve the participants understanding of dementia diseases/conditions, how to help remove the potential stigmas in society and enable those living with dementia to have a better life experience in however small a way.
