Dear Friends,

The Presentation of Christ in the Temple/ Candlemas.

In bygone centuries, Christians said their last farewells to the Christmas season on Candlemas, 2 February. This is exactly 40 days after Christmas Day itself. In New Testament times 40 days old was an important age for a baby boy: it was when they made their first 'public appearance'.

Dear Friends,

We have had a very successful month this December. The Christmas Coffee Morning and Grand Draw was very enjoyable and raised £1,325 on 3rd Dec. with lots of prizes.

We use the word 'celebration' to describe what we do in church: we 'celebrate the Eucharist' or we 'celebrate Christmas'.

Dear Friends,

1st November: All Saints' Day - the feast day of all the redeemed. All Saints, or All Hallows, is the feast of all the redeemed, known and unknown, who are now in heaven.

News from the Vicarage - October 2016

Dear Friends,

Our Harvest Festival is on Sunday 2nd October at the 10.15am Service. Gifts would be most appreciated for the Harvest, the non perishables going to the Food Bank and perishables to Ellesmere House, as in previous years.
